potholders

These are a couple of the potholders that I made at home over Christmas break. I sort of thought that I'd be posting about the amazing crafts that I created during my 6 days recovering from gallbladder surgery last week, but instead I watched TV and slept a lot and am instead posting old pictures.

  1. Emily, these are so pretty! I hope you are fully recovered by now from your surgery, and it's okay that you took it easy and didn't create something while you were recovering! So, what did you use for the filling for the potholders? Something heat resistant?

  2. My mom has some heat-resistant batting that has a plasticy layer. We used one layer of that and one of regular quilt batting. They're a great project because you can make several in only a couple of hours--perfect for people like me with short attention spans!

I'm feeling great 1 week after my opreration and might just finish a scarf before it becomes too warm to knit!

  3. Emily - I'm glad you posted these "old" pictures instead of the ones of your gallbladder surgery! I can't believe you got all those pictures of the actual surgery! And some pretty impressive gall stones, too!

  4. I thought of posting my surgery pictures (actual shots from inside my body during the surgery) but since there's no way to warn people about them, I decided not to. Email me if you want to see what used to be my gallbladder or if you want confirmation that a human liver looks just like the ones in the butcher shop!
