Camping Pictures

Brian's 30th birthday was Saturday so we met in VA with some friends from NC and MD and "camped" in a rustic cabin--no water or electricity, but an outhouse and fireplace--for 2 nights in Shenandoah National Park. The weather was chilly but perfect during the days and we had a lot of fun. Here's the link to the entire album Shenandoah

Last knitting of the season

I finished the scarf during what I hope will be the end of cold wintery nights and also my last cold of the season (see red puffy nose in picture). I did a basket weave pattern. k4, p4, k4, p4, k4 then the next row p4, k4, p4, k4, p4 5 times and then start over with a k4 row. I think it turned out pretty good. I used 3 skeins of factory ends so the color changes (on purpose this time) throughout. Now I can pack it away and discover it again next winter!

coming soon

It is almost Summer, so nearly time for me to stop knitting. I'm trying to think of what crafts I do during the summer. I guess only scrapbooking: my least-loved craft. Maybe I'll get my Costa Rica pictures done before I take any more vacations.

Last night I watched the NCAA championship game, knowing that if Florida won, I would win our lab pool. As I worked on the last scarf of this winter's knitting cycle, I realized that whenever I focused on knitting, Florida scored. When I watched the game, OSU scored. I kept knitting and today I am a few dollars richer at the expense of my colleagues and my scarf is almost done. I'll post pictures soon!
